Chinese multinational technology firm Vivo unveiled in the Philippines on May 16 its Vivo V3 Max smartphone, which boasts of “faster than faster” performance and premium features that include faster fingerprint-unlocking, faster battery-charging, a quick-launch camera, and a smart split function.
“We’re proud to announce the arrival of the V3 Max that will provide consumers with a new and compelling device that challenges the boundaries of a mid-range smartphone,” said Hazel Bascon, vice president of Vivo Philippines.
“The V3 Max is Vivo’s first premium mid-range offering in the country, and we’re excited to show Filipino consumers an amazing smartphone that highlights Vivo’s commitment to provide ground-breaking smartphone designs that are backed by state-of-the-art technologies,” she added.

After Vivo was cited in market-research company International Data Corp.’s (IDC) first-quarter 2016 report as one of the top five global mobile-phone manufacturers, the company’s launch of the V3 Max in the Philippines is expected to boost the brand’s growth in the country.
The V3 Max experience
The V3 Max has a metallic body that is CNC (computerized numerical control)-machined to produce a textured finish on the frame. Its metal back is finished with zircon sand coating, and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.5” Full High-Definition (1920×1080) display is used on the front, giving the phone a pleasant feel in the hand.
Inside, the V3 Max is equipped with dual fast-charging engines compatible with Qualcomm’s QC 2.0 international standard, ensuring compatibility with certified fast chargers in the market.
The V3 Max is also equipped with an innovative fingerprint scanner that allows users to unlock the phone in as little as 0.2 second from wake and 0.5 second from sleep mode. It also features a screen-split feature that allows users to multitask without having to exit their app.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Octa-core processor, and comes with 4 gigabytes of RAM (random access memory) and 32GB of storage, which is expandable, via Micro SD card, up to 128GB. The V3 Max runs on Vivo’s official Funtouch OS 2.5, based on Android Lollipop 5.1.
Other features of the phone are 4G LTE (long-term evolution) capability, a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 3000mAh (milliampere) battery.

The Vivo V3 Max is available in major retailers in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao for a suggested retail price of P16,990.
