Xpress partners with BYD

Xpress, the country’s fastest-growing ride-hailing platform, has begun integrating industry-leading greener mobility cars of BYD into its fleet in a bold initiative to accelerate the transition to sustainable urban mobility.

In its recent event dubbed as “Sustainable Rides, Pinoy Pride” at the Blue Leaf Pavilion in McKinley Hill, Taguig City, Xpress rolled out a zero commission program for a limited time to its drivers to further support them in making the shift from traditional vehicles to hybrid and electric models. During this transition period, drivers operating EVs and hybrid vehicles through Xpress will retain 100% of their earnings, helping them recover their investment faster and experience the financial benefits of sustainable mobility immediately.

Xpress has secured the first batch of PHEV vehicles and teamed up with Cebuana Lhuillier’s Ka-Negosyo Program to offer exclusive financing options tailored for Xpress driver partners. This initiative will provide affordable payment terms for EV and hybrid vehicle purchases, focusing on drivers in Metro Manila and other key cities nationwide.

“The future of urban transport is sustainable, and Xpress is committed to leading this transition. By investing in electric mobility, we’re not just adopting new technology, we’re creating real opportunities for drivers to increase earnings while reducing their environmental footprint,” Xpress president Cliff Cabungcal said ashe emphasized the transformational role of this electrification push in reshaping the ride-hailing industry.

For his part, Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility who was also present during the turnover of 2 BYD models to two new Xpress drivers who availed of the program, said: “The future of urban transport is sustainable, and Xpress is committed to leading this transition. This move ensures Xpress drivers have seamless access to reliable charging infrastructure further advancing the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient mobility.
