1st leg Triple Crown stakes race

MANILA – The Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated first leg of the prestigious Triple Crown Stakes race, set to electrify racing enthusiasts on Sunday, 11 May 2025, at the Metro Manila Turf Club Inc., Malvar, Batangas (MMTCI). This exhilarating race will see a talented field of three-year-old thoroughbreds vying for supremacy over a challenging 1600-meter distance and a gross prize of PHP 6,000,000.00

All eyes will be on the formidable Transform, the king of the Road to the Triple Crown. Owned and bred by the Hall of Famer Herminio S. Esguerra and expertly guided by jockey John Sajhed R. De Ocampo, Transform has consistently displayed breathtaking speed and stamina. The question on everyone’s mind: Can Transform carry that momentum and conquer this crucial first leg of the Triple Crown?

Adding an extra layer of excitement to the race is the much-awaited return of Constatic Offer. This exceptional colt, owned and bred by another Hall of Famer Antonio V. Tan, dominated the juvenile scene in 2024, impressively winning two legs of the juvenile races. With the experienced Oneal P. Cortez in the saddle, Constatic Offer’s comeback promises a thrilling showdown and raises the stakes for the Triple Crown series.

The competition doesn’t end there. The talented field also includes: Black Jack, who registered a very impressive victory on April 27th, owned by Lamberto C. Almeda will be ridden by Conrad P. Henson, Cole is Right, owned by Nicomedes G. Cruz and ridden by Jeffrey B. Bacaycay, Midnight Bell, representing Bell Racing Stable and piloted by Jonathan B. Hernandez, Parade King, owned by Rancho Sta Rosa Inc. and guided by John Paul A Guce, Pecotin Lady, owned by Running Rich Racing Inc. with Kelvin B. Abobo aboard, Sega Toulin, owned by Carlomagno M. Batalla and ridden by Daniel L. Camanero, and Vinalot Eyu, owned by Melaine Habla and guided by John Alvin Guce.

Adding a strategic element to the race is the Coupled Entry from Benjamin Abalos Jr., featuring the dynamic duo of El Jaleo, to be ridden by Patricio R. Dilema, and Mastery, with Andreu R. Villegas in the irons.

Furthermore, racing aficionados will be keeping a close eye on Senor Ivarra and Zoom In, both proven winners having triumphed in the first and third maiden stakes races, respectively. Their presence adds further depth and intrigue to this highly anticipated event.

In addition to the day’s excitement, it will also feature two special stakes races: the 3YO Locally Bred Stakes and the Hopeful Stakes. These races will showcase the best of native-bred and future champion, providing additional thrills for racing fans.

Looking further ahead, after the legendary Heneral Kalentong’s dominant Triple Crown victory in 2020, will we witness another such champion emerge after five years?
