12th Philippine EV Summit launched

The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) has launched its 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) 2024 during a press conference last week at the F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City.

The 3-day event is set on Oct. 24-26 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in SM Mall of Asia in Pasay which will showcase the latest technologies, innovations, products, and accessories from major EV brands in the Philippines and the region.

This year’s PEVS has the theme “Spark Change, Drive Electric” which, according to EVAP president Edmund Arasga, “entices everyone to be a part of the movement initiating a positive perception and behavior towards a cleaner and more electric future in transportation and mobility.”

“This event is designed to further ignite a powerful call to action for a transformative shift in transportation and mobility,” Araga said.

The event is co-presented by:BYD, Dongfeng, Hyundai, Nissan Philippines, Vinfast, Britannica United Motors, QSJ Motors Phils., Omoda & Jaecoo, and several others.

During the event, the EVall Electric Vehicle Service will have a 4-part training series conducted online, bringing some EV experts from other countries to share insights and best practices that would benefit local EV buyers.

Aside from the Department of Energy (which rolled out the Comprehensive Roadmap for the EV Industry in 2023), other government agencies throwing support to the event are Department of Trade & Industry, Department of Transportation, and the Land Transportation Office.
