FPIP Plaza construction starts

Lopez-led First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) has started construction of a multifunctional retail and office facility in Batangas.

FPIP Plaza is envisioned to house various retail establishments, restaurants, service centers, corporate offices, and government offices in its 600-hectare property in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

FPIP Chief Commercial Officer Jose Valentin Pantangco said the plaza aims to open more employment opportunities, adding to its current workforce of more than 70,000 employees.

First Balfour won the contract to build the mall in partnership with architectural firm Aidea. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026.

The three-level mixed use commercial hub project will have a community mall, leasable office spaces, convenience stores, and other retail establishments.

Batangas 3rd District Rep. Maitet Collantes, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony, said the FPIP Plaza would boost businesses and help customers.

“I can already see the impending growth of the local economy, the creation of even more work opportunities, the flourishing of surrounding businesses, the placement of more investments, and the strengthening of the position of FPIP and its partners,” Collantes said.

FPIP is a registered ecozone under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority that is home to over 150 world-class locators, including Collins Aerospace, Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc., and Dyson.

A groundbreaking ceremony was made earlier this month and was attended by FPIP and First Balfour Executives as well as members of the Batangas local government.
