The race is on for the Motul King Of RIOT, considered as the country’s premiere 4 x 4 international competition, that fires off Nov. 26 to Dec. 1 at the breath-taking Caliraya Mountain Lake Resort in Cavinti, Laguna.
Now on its fourth year and organized annually by the Rizal International Off-Road Track headed by Mayor Jun Siquian, more than 150 local and international off-roaders are expected to participate in the 4-day competition across different categories – Prototype, Modified, Buggy, UTV, and Production Class.
“As of now, we have already 75 registered entries, and 6 of them are from Malaysia who are all veterans of the recent Borneo Safari 2024,” according to this year’s KOR event chairman Eddie Alvarado. “We’re thrilled to host KOR 2024 alongside the ‘Sarap Buhay Camping Expo’, marking our biggest edition yet. This year’s competition will showcase the grit and determination of off-road enthusiasts from across the Philippines and beyond, highlighting our commitment to innovation and excellence in extreme 4×4 sports.”
An addition this year is “The Bivouac,” an al-night grueling endurance stage designed to challenge competitors’ survival skills, mechanical expertise, and driving prowess. Competitors with crew support will need to rely on their wits to get through extreme conditions.
This year’s edition also introduces a new scoring system that will capture every second of competitions, ensuring a more exciting and transparent race.
Meanwhile, the Sarap Buhay Camping Expo will showcase product exhibits, interactive workshops, various competitions, entertainment and foods, and other family-friendly activities.
Motul is the title-sponsor and the company plays a pivotal role in elevating the profile of the Philippines’ biggest and only extreme 4×4 competition into a prestigious global event, showcasing both local and international off-road racing talents.
