The Department of Transportation (DOTr) called on partner-drivers and merchants of Grab Philippines to ensure safety and security while servicing their clients.
Transport Secretary Jaime J. Bautista said safety and security are never compromised in the transport industry.
“Kailangan po ng safety dito sa ating transport sector. Hindi po pwedeng pabayaan na macompromise ‘yung safety natin,” Sec. Bautista said as he led the groundbreaking of the Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City.
“Yun driver ng Grab, siguraduhin natin na maayos ang serbisyo na extend natin sa mga pasahero,” the transport chief stressed.
To be launched in the first quarter of 2025, the Grab Asenso Center is dedicated to empowering its growing ecosystem of drivers, riders, and merchant-partners, including those from MOVE IT, its motorcycle taxi platform.
Sec. Bautista also acknowledged that Grab contributes to the country’s economic growth by providing jobs to Filipinos.
With Grab’s training and livelihood to its more than 50,000 partner-drivers and merchants, Sec. Bautista learned that some of them were able to send their children to school.
“Ito (Grab operations) ay malaking kontribusyon sa ating economy dahil mabibigyan natin ng magandang trabaho ang mga drivers, operators, and mga support employees,” Sec. Bautista said.
“Laging isipin natin ang binibenta natin ay service kaya kailangan magkaroon sila (passengers) ng magandang experience, from the start they book their trip until dumating sila sa kanilang destination,” he added.
