The government will abide by the Supreme Court’s (SC) final decision on the transfer of excess Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) funds to the national treasury for priority public projects, a Presidential Communications Office (PCO) official said Thursday.
Speaking at a Malacañang briefing, Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that the administration is waiting for the High Court’s ruling.
“Kung sasabihin po ng Supreme Court na dapat po na ibalik ang subsidy mula sa gobyerno, tutuparin po natin iyan at magku-comply po tayo kung anuman po ang sasabihin ng Supreme Court,” she said.
Regarding another PhilHealth-related case pending before the SC, Castro urged the public to await the court’s decision on the “zero subsidy” policy for the state health insurer.
“Pakinggan na lang po muna natin kung ano po ang magiging desisyon ng Supreme Court,” she said.
