Hyundai Motor Philippines unveiled three of its latest vehicles in the market today during a well-attended event late last week at the Ayala Museum in Makati City.
HMPI president Jiho Son spearheaded the presentation of the new Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Hyundai Ioniq 9 which are expected to be a hit among the new buyers of electric vehicles. He was assisted by HMPI managing director Cecil Capacete.
The Hyundai Palisadeis a hybrid electric vehicle with a Calligraphy AWD variant that is powered by a 2.5-liter Smartstream G turbo hybrid gas angine and electric motor that has a combined 329 hp and very impressive 422Nm of torque It is a 7-seater SUV that is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) complete with Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. It sells for ₱3.98-million and it comes with a 5-year/200,000 km warranty, with the battery having a separate 8-year/160,000 km warranty. It is also available in Abyss Black Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, and Robust Emerald Pearl colors.
Meanwhile, the Ioniq 5, which sweeps the World Car Awards in 2022 by taking the World Electric Vehicle, World Car Design of the Year, and the coveted World Car of the Year, is finally here available here in the Philippines.
It is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor with an 84 kwh lithium-ion battery that has a combined 229 Ps and 350Nm of torque. It has a 620 km range on a single charge. It now sells in three different variants such as: GL 2WD standard range at ₱2,840,000; GL 2WD standard range at ₱3,068,000; and GLS 2WD long range at ₱3,698,000.
On the other hand, the Ioniq 9, which was presented worldwide recently, is now for sale here in the country. But, HMP said this huge all-electric SUV is only for made-to-order only. Hyundai offers a choice of three powertrains in the Ioniq 9 — rear-wheel drive (Long-Range RWD) and two all-wheel-drive setups, Long-Range AWD and Performance AWD. The base Long-Range RWD model, the S, relies on a single, rear-mounted 215-hp motor, while Long-Range AWD versions add an 89-hp front motor for a total of 303 horses; The Performance AWD models use a pair of 211-hp motors for a combined 422-hp output. Six trims are on tap: the aforementioned S, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive SE and SEL, and the Performance AWD trio—Performance Limited, Performance Calligraphy, and Performance Calligraphy Design. It is pegged at ₱4.58-million.
