BDO Pay helps Filipinos stretch holiday budget

BDO Pay is helping Filipinos manage holiday expenses with fee-free money transfers, QR payments and bill settlements as the traditional “BER” months usher in the country’s busiest spending season.

With families preparing for reunions, gift-giving and other holiday activities, the digital payment app allows users to handle various transactions without additional charges, helping them make the most of their budgets.

Users can scan any QRPh code to pay directly from their BDO account or debit card. BDO credit cardholders can also use the Scan to Pay feature through BDO Pay POS terminals.

The app also allows users to send money to BDO accounts, other banks and e-wallets without transfer fees. Funds can be sent using an account number, QR code or mobile number, making it convenient for sending holiday gifts or Aguinaldo and sharing expenses with family members.

BDO Pay users can likewise settle payments to more than 2,200 billers covering electricity, water, transportation and telecommunications services, among others.

For Filipinos who have yet to use the app, BDO Pay allows customers to open a Basic Account within minutes using one valid ID, such as a passport or driver’s license.

The account requires no initial deposit or maintaining balance, making it accessible to first-time digital banking users.

Other features include Request Money for collecting shared expenses, installment offers for major purchases and instant card-lock functions for BDO credit and debit cards.

With holiday spending expected to pick up during the coming months, BDO said BDO Pay provides users with a single platform for payments, money transfers and bill settlements while helping them manage everyday expenses.
