Nestor V. Tan, President and CEO of BDO Unibank Inc., has been elected President of the International Monetary Conference (IMC) for the 2025–2026 term. His election took place during the IMC’s annual meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
The IMC is a prestigious, non-profit organization made up of the Chairpersons and CEOs of 58 of the world’s largest financial institutions from 31 countries.
Past IMC presidents include Johan Thijis of KBC Group (2024–2025), Carlos Torres Vila of BBVA (2023–2024), and John Dugan of Citigroup (2022–2023).
Established in 1954, the IMC serves as a vital platform for high-level dialogue among global banking leaders, central bank governors, senior policymakers, and heads of key financial institutions including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Tan’s election as the first Filipino to lead the IMC highlights his exceptional leadership and expertise in banking and finance.
It also affirms BDO’s rising prominence in the global financial landscape and marks a significant milestone for the Philippine banking industry as it gains wider recognition on the international stage.
