BNP Paribas sets up Philippine hub in Uptown Bonifacio

BNP Paribas, one of the world’s largest banking groups, is establishing its Philippine operations at Megaworld Corp.’s Uptown Bonifacio township in Taguig City, adding to the roster of multinational companies operating in the business district.

BNP Paribas Solutions Philippines will lease office space at Uptown Eastgate, which has the largest gross leasable area among office towers in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), according to Megaworld.

The facility will serve as a strategic delivery center supporting the French banking group’s global shared services for its Corporate and Institutional Banking business.

The move further expands the presence of international companies in Uptown Bonifacio, which hosts more than 30 major local and multinational firms employing over 60,000 professionals across seven office towers.

Other global companies operating in the township include JPMorganChase, Google, Tesla, Coca-Cola and Reckitt Mead Johnson. JPMorganChase occupies two office towers with a combined area of about 140,000 square meters.

Ranked 58th on the 2026 Fortune Global 500, BNP Paribas has more than 180,000 employees across 64 countries and territories and over $3.2 trillion in managed assets.

Francis Roxas, head of Megaworld Global Offices, said the banking group’s decision reflects international companies’ confidence in Uptown Bonifacio as a location for their business operations.

He cited the township’s access to talent, transport connectivity, mobility options and amenities as factors that support business productivity and employee experience.

The 31-story Uptown Eastgate has around 100,000 square meters of gross leasable area and holds LEED Gold certification for its building design and sustainability features. Its floor plates reach up to 5,000 square meters, making it suitable for large multinational companies and shared services operations.

Megaworld has nearly 900,000 square meters of office space in BGC, accounting for more than half of its nationwide office portfolio of over 1.7 million square meters.

The company also reported around 200,000 square meters in office lease transactions during the first nine months of 2026, indicating continued leasing activity across its developments in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

BNP Paribas’ entry adds to the concentration of global businesses in Uptown Bonifacio as Megaworld continues to expand its office leasing operations.
