DMCI Homes adopts BPI’s US payment facility

DMCI Homes has become the first property developer to adopt the Bank of the Philippine Islands’ (BPI) Overseas Collection Arrangement (OCA), allowing its customers in the United States to pay their Philippine property amortizations directly from their enrolled US bank accounts.

The partnership aims to simplify cross-border payments for overseas Filipino homebuyers by reducing delays associated with traditional remittances and foreign exchange processing.

Under the arrangement, payments are settled to DMCI Homes in real time, while collection and settlement reports help the developer track transactions and reconcile receivables more efficiently.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at the BPI Wealth Lounge in Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2. Representatives included DMCI Homes President and CEO Alfredo Austria, Chief Finance Officer Evangeline Hernandez-Atchioco, BPI Head of Institutional Banking Luis Cruz and BPI Head of Strategy, Products and Support Joel De Vera.

Austria said the facility would simplify payment management for the developer’s US-based customers while improving visibility over collections.

He added that the initiative forms part of DMCI Homes’ efforts to make property ownership more convenient for Filipinos living abroad and investing in Philippine real estate.

BPI Transaction Banking Head Edgardo Marcelo Jr. said the arrangement was developed through the collaboration of BPI, Meridian and DMCI Homes to streamline collections and make payments easier for the developer’s overseas customers.

Marcelo said the improved collection process could also help DMCI Homes allocate more time and resources to developing residential properties for Filipinos.

The initiative highlights how banking partnerships and digital payment solutions are being used to improve the management of property transactions involving buyers based overseas.
