Comedienne Janice Jurado has come a long way, indeed.
From being a sexy star in the late seventies and early eighties to comic in the iconic sitcom “Duplex” to a dramatic star in the nineties and now a meaty TV host and advice guru, Janice has proven her versatility in the biz.
Just tune in to “Director’s Cut”—an entertainment talk show Jurado hosts with filmmaker-turned-emcee Dave Cecilio—in Channel 31 online TV, Janice has been showing her array of talents.
Known for her wacky antics in the now defunct “Rumors, Facts and Rumor,” an erstwhile showbiz talk show in ABS-CBN with Alfie Lorenzo and Chande Romero as other hosts, Jurado’s on cam presence these days is more than meets the eye.
She has substance and insights in every topic she and Dave weekly discuss with the assistance of Asian Television Content (ATC) and Channel 31, free-to-air TV Business Development Manager Nel Talavera. With all the experiences Janice has gathered she evokes meaningful wisdom on each one of them. “Sa dami na po ng mga karanasan ko, paano ba naman hindi ako dadaldal pa (With the many experiences in the past, how would I not be loquacious?)” chuckled the controversial actress.
It’s only her titillating take on issues and stories that mark Jurado’s brand of TV hosting but her entertaining manner as well. It’s good that Channel 31 gave her another chance at hosting because it would be gone to waste if ever she was taken aside. Kudos to ATC and Channel 31 for a resurrection of Janice’s onscreen presence!
“Gusto ko talagang magamit ang mga naranasan ko sa buhay sa pagpapayo sa mga tao sa ngayon na napakarami nating problema (I really want to utilize my past experiences and their lessons in advising people today when we have loads of problems),” admitted Janice who is more relaxed and spiritually uplifted.
“Director’s Cut” isn’t only an entertainment program, it is also an enlightening piece of show that educates and liberates people’s mind.
“Magaling si Direk Dave Cecilio. Hindi lamang siya gumagawa ng pelikula, mahusay rin siyang host (Direk Dave Cecilio is excellent. He only doesn’t make films, he is also a good host),” complimented Jurado.
Because of her perseverance, Janice has now many digital TV shows aside from Channel 31. According to her, she co-hosts with fellow actress and inspiring human person Myra Manibog in a Mulat TV show. Jurado has also maintained a weekly Facebook Live program where she gives pieces of advises to listeners and viewers consulting her.
