I first met Jay Martin at the MHE (Media House Express) studio when he made an appearance with action star Vic Tito.
Jay and Vic joined together in guesting in our defunct online show “The NET (National Entertainment Today)” with fellow entertainment journalist Art Tapalla.
Easily, l was impressed with Martin who exuded a certain enigma despite his wearing black leather jacket in the tradition of action stars like Robin Padilla, Michael Rivero, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., ER Ejercito, to name only a few.
Really now, Jay also wants to be an action star following the footsteps of his idol Robin.
“Pero may sarili naman po akong (I have my own) identity,” qualified Martin who is a son of a former character actor.
It was Vic who also gave Jay the big break in the movies
But Martin has other aces up his sleeves.
He can write and direct.
That is why when Joker’s Production made “Mga Anghel ng Quiapo,” he didn’t mince words and plunge into writing and editing.
Let’s all welcome Jay Martin to show business. (Boy Villasanta)
