President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., committed to promoting Filipino products on the global stage, assured micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and artisan communities that their products will soon find international markets.
In his speech at Manila FAME in Pasay City, the President emphasized that the government is taking proactive steps to ensure Filipino products gain international exposure, not only in the “local space” but also in the “digital space.”
“The government is positioning you not just in the local arena but in the global digital marketplace, giving you access to the world market,” President Marcos stated.
He urged MSMEs to continue scaling up their efforts, adding, “It’s up to us to maintain this momentum, to keep innovating. But creativity is never an issue for Filipinos.”
Manila FAME, a premier trade exhibition, highlights high-quality home, fashion, and lifestyle products crafted by local MSMEs and artisans.
In 2023, the creative industry contributed a notable 7.1 percent to the country’s GDP,
equivalent to P1.72 trillion, while employing around 7.26 million Filipinos.
“With the creative industry’s significant contribution to the economy, there is every reason for us to support this sector and ensure we do it right—for the government, the country, and all our talented practitioners,” the President said.
President Marcos reiterated the government’s commitment to global recognition of Filipino talent, saying: “We will do everything we can to showcase Filipino excellence to the world.”
He assured that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and related agencies are exerting efforts to ensure Filipino products achieve global patronage.
