Much bigger Chevrolet Trax

The Covenant Car Company Inc. unwrapped the keenly-awaited New Generation 2024 Chevrolet Trax last week at the Rockwell Plant in Makati.

The Chevrolet Trax is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine that has 137 horsepower with 220 Nm of torque mated to a proven 6-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of reaching 100 kmh in just 8 seconds. 

It was the TCCCI president and CEO Atty. Albert Arcilla who led in the introduction of the sporty crossover SUV that is expected to be another hit from the world-renowned car manufacturer.

“We are proud to introduce to you the new generation Chevrolet Trax that is more bigger and bolder,fuel-efficient, and very impressive to drive,” Atty. Arcilla said.

The Trax is now 279mm longer and 51mm wider with 170 liter more of cargo volume or up to 1,405 liter of cargo space. 

It is much bigger than the Chevrolet Trailblazer as sports a globally designed fascia with new Chevy signature LED high-eye DRL and headlamps. The 18-inch machine-faced 2-tone alloy wheels significantly add a macho-look while the black roof accent with electric sunroof gives it a smooth elegance.

The Trax gives a comfortable and composed ride with its generously roomy and tech-forward cabin and the driver is fully equipped with all the equipment he needs for a smooth and safe driving – an 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital display cluster, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a flat-bottom steering when, a wireless phone charging, and an electric parking brake with auto hold.

A wide array of advanced safety features come standard in all Trax variants such as enhanced stability control (complete with e-boost brake system, integrated brake system, electronic brake distribution and stability control, cornering brake control, panic brake assist, and pullover mitigation), advanced driver assistance (forward collision alert, following distance indicator, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, enhanced front pedestrian detection, and vehicle forward movement detection),and all-around safety such as SRS airbags, anti-theft alarm system, and engine immobilizer.
