A new access point in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) is underway with the construction of the Lingunan Southbound Entry, providing motorists in Valenzuela City with a more efficient route to the toll road.
Spanning 491 meters, the entry ramp is a collaboration between NLEX Corporation and the Valenzuela City government. Expected to be completed in April, the project aims to ease congestion on local roads by offering an alternative route near the Paso de Blas Interchange.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) President and COO Arrey Perez underscored the project’s role in supporting Valenzuela’s growth.
“We recognize that Valenzuela is a rapidly developing city. The construction of the new southbound entry will strengthen it as a growing industrial and commercial center. We in MPTC and NLEX want to help harness that economic potential,” Perez said.
Valenzuela City Mayor Wesley Gatchalian highlighted the project’s benefits, particularly in reducing traffic in key areas.
“The construction of the southbound entry in Bgy. Lingunan will provide motorists with an alternative route to reduce traffic congestion in Lawang Bato, Punturin, Maysan, Paso de Blas, and the East Service Road,” he stated.
Gatchalian also commended the partnership between the city, NLEX, and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) in implementing traffic solutions that improve mobility for road users. TRACY CABRERA
