No escape for ‘big fish’ – Ridon

Despite what he described as efforts to divert public attention, Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon said Filipinos remain firmly focused on holding high-ranking officials accountable for corruption, particularly those implicated in the controversial flood control projects.

Speaking at a recent media forum, Ridon dismissed concerns that public clamor for justice in the flood control scandal would fade, stressing that the issue will persist until those responsible—especially powerful figures—are jailed.

“Hangga’t walang nakukulong na malaking isda ay hindi matatabunan ito ng anumang isyu,” Ridon said, referring to senior officials perceived to have orchestrated systemic corruption in government infrastructure programs.

He said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his administration must make good on their pledge to bring corrupt officials to justice, noting that Filipinos have grown more aware that much of their hardship stems from billions of pesos lost to greed and abuse of power.

“The people need to see them charged and jailed. Hindi papayagan ang taongbayan na malusaw na lang ito nang walang napaparusahan,” Ridon stressed. TRACY CABRERA
