Philippine Basketball Association court refurbishment goes to Cagayan de Oro

The PBA 50th anniversary fever extends all the way to Cagayan De Oro.

As part its golden celebration, the league turned over a refurbished court in Barangay Carmen, Macanhan, Cagayan De Oro, which coincided with the Philippine Cup road game between TNT and Rain or Shine.

The court refurbishment was courtesy of Rain or Shine, whose players attended the turnover rite presented by ArenaPlus, together with Commissioner Willie Marcial on Friday when the PBA delegation arrived from Manila.

Joining Marcial and the Elasto Painters were coach Yeng Guiao and Rain or Shine alternate governor Edison Oribiana, while accepting the restored court in behalf of the province were Cagayan De Oro Mayor Klarex Uy and Barangay Carmen captain Kikang Uy.

“Kasama sa programa natin yan for the PBA 50th anniversary,” said Marcial.

It was the third playing court to be turned over by the league this season after similar refurbishment were done in Caloocan and Batasan.

Marcial said more playing courts will be refurbished this season but refused to say where exactly its locations.

It was actually a busy day for the PBA contingent as TNT hosted a meet and greet event with the kids of Cagayan De Oro.

Several players of the team also hail from the province such as Jio Jalalon, Poy Erram, Rey Nambatac, and Glenn Khobuntin, along with team manager and PBA great Jojo Lastimosa.
