PHLPOST lowers rates for trackable mail services

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) announced on Friday the launch of promotional lower rates for its domestic and international tracked or registered mail services, including its express mail service.

This initiative aims to strengthen PHLPost’s market position and make its services more affordable, offering the public better value for their money.

PHLPost Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer Luis Carlos emphasized that their courier services now offer more competitive pricing compared to private courier providers.

“This new promotion, which significantly reduced the rates of our domestic and international mail services, is part of our commitment to better serve our customers and

contribute to Filipino communities’ economic well-being,” Carlos said in a press release.

He pointed out that the public “had long been disadvantaged” by the high courier rates of privately operated services.

“Now, with these new promo rates, we offer them a better choice — one that will enable them to fulfill their mailing needs at a fraction of the cost,” he added.

The new rates will be based on the volumetric weight of mail and packages, varying depending on delivery locations, including far-flung areas and highly populated regions.

For instance, a domestic tracked item sent within the National Capital Region now costs only P25 for the first 50 grams.

Carlos highlighted that PHLPost’s promotional rates for international mail services are among the most affordable in the market.

“For example, sending a 1.5-kilogram ordinary mail to Japan will cost only P1,680, while sending the same to Singapore will cost P1,254. If you’re sending it to Australia, it will cost only P1,870. The rate to Canada is P2,291, to the United Kingdom it is P1,823, and to the United States, it is P2,250,” he said.

“Even with the new rates, we assure the public that their mail and packages will be handled with the efficiency and highest standards of service,” he added.

The complete list of promotional lower rates for international mail services can be accessed through the PHLPost website.

Meanwhile, the rate for domestic ordinary mail (non-trackable items) is still awaiting approval from the Department of Information and Communications Technology regarding a proposed postage rate adjustment.
