“I’ve been absent from the music scene for the longest time and suddenly I realized I have to do musical concerts again,” exclaimed Nick Nangit, lawyer, spirit questor, media man and musician.
Nick has been very active in piano recitals especially during the pre-COVID-19 pandemic.
He has done successful shows in Paco Park, National Museum of History etc. but Nick has to concentrate on his legal work, multimedia hosting and intermittently on his paranormal activities so his music took the backseat.
But a truly musically gifted man has to emerge again and again to share his talents with his fans and listeners in no time at all.
After a-five-year-hiatus from the music scene, Nick has to pull out his piano from a corner and start to play it once more with gusto.
On October 28, 2023, Saturday, at 3 pm at the Manila Clock Toer Museum at the 4th Floor of the City Hall of Manila, the ebony and ivory virtuoso will return to the concert stage via “Timeless Nick Nangit,” the comeback of international concert pianist.
“The concept of the show is a fusion of art and music,” he informed.
According to Nick, there will be exciting and interesting literary sketches like poetry to be interpreted by the poets themselves. Without naming names, Nangit said that a Ramon Magsaysay Awardee and internationally acclaimed literati will interpret their original verses. “Ayaw ko munang sabihin ngayon ang kanilang mga pangalan. Para may sorpresa (I don’t want to reveal their identities yet at this time. I want to surprise the audience),” he chuckled.
After each interpretative reading of poems, Nick will interpret the literary creations in his piano for elucidation of the meanings and inspirations of the literary works.
“May bibigyan din akong interpretasyon ng mga musika bago magkadigma (I will also interpret original songs and music composed before the war),” he said.
He will also interpret Oscar award-winning music like “Lalaland,” to name just one. “Pero marami pa (But there will be more),” he assured.
To top it all, there will be an on-the-spot painting while Nangit performs his music.
What a touch job to challenge his creativity, a bonus to his followers after his absence from the scene.
