Amid persistent destabilization rumors and murmurs of unrest over alleged government corruption, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Constitution and the Filipino people — a stance that has earned praise from civic leader Dr. Jose Antonio Goitia.
Goitia, chairman emeritus of the Alyansa ng Bantay sa Kapayapaan at Demokrasya (ABKD), People’s Alliance for Democracy and Reforms (PADER), Liga Independencia Pilipinas (LIPI), and the Filipinos Do Not Yield (FDNY) Movement, expressed full support for acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. and lauded the national police for standing firm against divisive forces seeking to sow instability.
“The PNP’s loyalty is not to any political figure, but to the Republic and its people,” Goitia told The Market Monitor. “True loyalty is not declared in words—it is shown in service. The men and women of the PNP have proven that through their discipline and dedication.”
Goitia said the police organization’s rejection of a so-called “loyalty check” was proof of its institutional maturity and professionalism. “While others spread intrigue, our police continue to serve. That is the highest form of patriotism,” he said.
He likewise commended Nartatez’s calm yet decisive leadership, which he said keeps morale high within the ranks. “General Nartatez does not waste time on distractions. His focus is clear—protect the people, uphold order, and stay above politics,” Goitia noted.
The civic leader also emphasized that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s confidence in the PNP leadership is “well placed,” describing the trust between the commander-in-chief and the police force as “vital in maintaining peace and enforcing reform.”
Goitia concluded with a call for national unity and support for the country’s uniformed services.
“Our police officers put their lives on the line every day. They deserve our trust, not suspicion,” he said. “Loyalty to the Republic means loyalty to peace, justice, and good governance. The PNP has proven where it stands — with the President, with the people, and with the nation.”
