It takes action-drama director Francis “Jun” Posadas to shine actor Richard Quan’s star to shine brightest and acting career to move fastest.

After a series of supporting roles mostly marked commendable performances, Richard has finally clinched a solo titular starrer in one biopic he, according to Francis, could only give justice.

Posadas never left any stone unturned just to give Quan the chance to prove his salt as a bankable performer on the big screen.

Jun ran through a list of actors to breathe life to Edwin Jubahib, the incumbent Governor of Davao del Norte and he eventually found the answer in Richard.

“It’s a long overdue break for Richard and he deserves it,” commented entertainment journalist Will Provinio.

Quan has been in the acting field for over three decades now and proven he could portray any character with gusto.

“Kuya” is the best gift Richard could receive as early as this time of the year.

Quan has shot selected scenes in Samal Island these past few days to present  authentic locations where Jubahib spent most of his memorable experiences as a young man.

“‘Yong sa Samal Island, d’yan daw siya nagmumuni pag may problema siya tulad nang mag-away silang mag-asawa at nang magdesisyon siyang tumakbo bilang gobernador (It’s in Samal Island where he spent meditating on his problems like when he had a spat with his wife and decided on running for public office),” said Cyrus Khan, the movie’s Production Designer.

Jubahib was a former farmer, vegetable vendors, bus conductor and inspector before he ventured in politics.

According to Richard, he gathered butterflies in his stomach but confudent just the same he could tackle well the filmbio.
