SAIC Motor Philippines – MG Philippines officially launched its two, new pure electric vehicles – the refined and sophisticated Marvel R EV SUV, and the fun and sporty MG 4 EV Hatchback – that are expected to be big contenders in the heating EV competition in the local auto industry.
The unveiling was done during the “EVeryday Extraordinary” test drive event last week at the BGC High Street Activity Center in Taguig City.
The MG4 EV is expected to be a popular electric car to the young generation of car enthusiasts as it is “playful, functional, spacious, a joy to drive, bursting with modern technology, and channels the youthful energy of MG in a purely electric package.” It’s introductory price is pegged at P1,468,888.
It is recently awarded the 2023 Car of the Year and the Best Family Car 2023 during the UK Car of the Year Awards, aside from being voted as the Car of the Year 2023 by Irish Times, EV of the Year by the Automotive Management Awards and several others.
Its battery can fill from 10-80% in as low as 26 minutes when plugged into a Type-2 DC charger at a maximum rate of 14kW.
On the other, the Marvel R is equipped with a 70kWh battery that offers up to 402-km of range. The battery can be charged from 5-80% in just 43 minutes via a Type-2 DC charger. This one sells for ₱2,588,888. It is relatively a large vehicle that is 4,674 mm long, 1,919 mm wide, and 1,618 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,804.
