Samsung announces Galaxy AI features

After launching the new Galaxy AI features with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has expanded efforts to broaden accessibility of Galaxy AI. The company’s latest One UI 6.1 software update, arriving this March, will bring Galaxy AI capabilities to additional devices including the Galaxy S23 series. The updated AI features aim to enhance and elevate the user experience.

Galaxy AI offers tools to boost productivity, communication, and creativity. Features include Chat Assist, which allows adjusting message tone from casual to formal and translating messages across 13 languages. Galaxy users can translate phone calls in real-time via both voice and text with Live Translate. Interpreter provides split-screen text translations for live conversations without internet access.

The update also integrates features designed to promote optimized productivity. Galaxy AI is evolving search through Circle to Search with Google, allowing intuitive browsing via swift circular gestures both online and within apps.

Time management has been streamlined with additions such as Note Assist, which generates summaries and translates notes. Browsing Assist delivers comprehensive news article summaries. Transcript Assist provides complete meeting recording transcriptions with multiple speaker identification.

Galaxy AI tools make creativity more effortless. Generative Edit enables easily repositioning, resizing or realigning objects for polished photos. Edit Suggestion accelerates photo enhancements. Instant Slow-mo generates extra frames for capturing impactful moments in slow motion videos.
