FOUR wins in a row for Rain or Shine.
Aaron Fuller and Adrian Nocum provided the spark as the Elasto Painters rolled to their fourth straight win after posting a 116-99 victory over all-Filipino Phoenix Super LPG in the PBA Season 49 Governors Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Fuller finished with another monster numbers of 28 points and 22 rebounds while Nocum added 19 of his 21 points in the second quarter to power the E-Painters to an impressive 4-0 win-loss record in Group B.
The E-Painters of coach Yeng Guiao also got 15 points from Jhonard Clarito and 13 points from Andrei Caracut.
RJ Jazul and Jayjay Alenjandro led Phoenix with 12 points each.
Kai Ballungay added 11 points and Ricci Rivero chipped in with 10 points for the Fuel Masters, who dropped to 0-3.
Actually, import Le’Bryan Nash arrived on Thursday to replace Jay McKinnis, but he was measured to be 3/8 of an inch taller than the 6’6” height limit for imports. As a result, the Fuel Masters had to play without a reinforcement until another replacement could be flown in.
In another game, Blackwater Bossing pulled an upset against the Barangay Ginebra to claim its first win, 95-88.
George King, who replaced Ricky Ledo, tallied 33 points and 19 rebounds in his PBA debut and carried Bossing into the win column.
King, the former NBA player, showcased his long-range accuracy, hitting 2-of-6 from the four-point range and 3-of-4 from beyond the three-point territory.
His impressive double-double performance helped Blackwater get back on track after a 0-3 season start.
King got ample support from rookie Sedrick Barefield had 13 points, Christian David added 11 points and Troy Rosario chipped in with 10 points to help the Blackwater improve their record to 1-3 in Group B.
Justin Brownlee led the scoring for the Gin Kings with 37 points while Japeth Aguilar added 17 points and 11 rebounds for coach Tim Cone.
