Shopping, commuting made easier with BPI-Ayala Malls Amore Visa Prepaid beep card

Life in Metro Manila is about to get easier and better.

In time for its 165th anniversary, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), together with Ayala Malls, AF Payments Inc. and digital-security company Gemalto, has issued the very first lifestyle loyalty and transportation card in the Philippines—the BPI-Ayala Malls Amore Visa Prepaid beep card.

Harnessing the best of modern technologies, the Amore Visa Prepaid beep card is a reloadable prepaid card that can be used for shopping in Ayala Malls and wherever Visa is accepted, and as payment for Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3/ Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Bus, HM Transport’s Airport Loop bus, Citylink, and Frohlich Point-to-Point (P2P) bus fares.

BPI believes that its cardholders, with the Amore Visa Prepaid beep card, will be more empowered to achieve the lifestyle they want through convenient transportation and a rewarding shopping experience.

Today’s mall-going young people will find irresistible advantages in using the card, as the Ayala Mall is the lifestyle haven for unique shopping, dining, and entertainment values.

With most of the urban population commuting by bus and train, having two of the biggest Ayala Malls located beside the MRT and bus stations makes commuting all the more convenient.

Beep facilitates transit payment and quicker entrance at train stations’ gantries, elilminating the need for consumers to repeatedly queue to purchase tickets.

“At BPI, we want to be able to address the changing needs of our clients. By fusing banking and transport together, shoppers can enjoy cashless payments for their purchases at Ayala Malls, plus the benefits of beep, which will soon be extended to other bus services,” said Simon Paterno, head of financial products and services at BPI.

“With only 31 percent of all Filipino adults holding a banking product, integrating beep with a prepaid payment card opens up an opportunity for BPI to tap into a readily available and vast unbanked market,” he added.

This revolutionary new product is available at the Ayala Malls Facebook page, or at the Ayala Malls concierge and at the UP Town Center Urban Turf.

Cardholders can load up to P100,000 through BPI’s loading partners or 24/4 loading channels. They earn points for every purchase, which they can redeem at Ayala Malls. There are no loading fees or maintaining balance for the card, which is valid for four years.

The card also lets holders enjoy exclusive Ayala Malls perks, such as unlimited use of customer lounges, discounts at Ayala Cinemas, and VIP seats at mall events.
