Marcos admin remains on solid ground amid destabilization plots

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured the public last week that his administration remains on “solid ground” despite alleged destabilization attempts, emphasizing that key sectors of society continue to stand firmly behind the government’s programs and advocacies.

“We are confident that the important sectors of society, the power centers of society and of the administration are very supportive still of the advocacies and programs of the administration,” Marcos told reporters after leading the oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the Malacañang Press Corps.

The President said his administration has “worked very hard” to earn and maintain public trust, but cautioned against complacency. “It’s dangerous to be complacent,” he noted. “We will be very careful to ensure that everyone remains part of the administration and supportive of it.”

Marcos added that he remains open to dialogue with individuals and groups who have grievances or concerns. “We always go to them and say, what can we do to accommodate your advocacy or some of the things you would like the national government to do? We try to listen to everyone,” he said.

Malacañang earlier downplayed rumors of a possible coup attempt, stressing that the President continues to have full trust in the loyalty of government forces.

Marcos also called on the Armed Forces of the Philippines to act decisively against any domestic threats seeking to sow discord or confusion, underscoring the need for unity and vigilance in safeguarding national stability.
