It’s a different ball game this time.
The love affairs are detached, far, far away—for now—from the public performances.
Still, the tension is palpable and more pronounced.
For the moment, though, it is the pursuit of greater glory in professionalism and advanced career moves.
Interestingly, the race is now thrusted on two equally beautiful and talented actresses, Kathryn Bernardo and Nadine Lustre and the actors who would play important roles in their professional growth, namely, Alden Richards and James Reid.
Kath has a new love team in James, thus, the portmanteau, KathReid while Nadine has Alden as her current screen love interest, their partnership is known as AlDine.
The creative minds of their production people are working well.
To wit: Bernardo and Reid television project “Someone, Someday” has been hatched since late last year while Lustre and Richards’ series “Love, Siargao” has just been whipped up recently.
Could it be the looming competitive spirit between the virtues and vibes of Kathryn and Nadine while testing the waters of the two newest love teams in town that could spell magic and renewed impetus in the intense ratings game on primetime TV?
A good idea, indeed.
The newest realignment and configuration have given the local tube a challenge.

James was Nadine’s ex while Kath and Alden were former screen sweethearts.
Changing partners, anyone?
Although, from a different medium, will KathReid be as strong as KathNiel in “The Hows of Us” or “Can’t Help Falling in Love” etc. or in KathDen’s monster hits “Hello, Love, Goodbye” and “Hello, Love, Again”?
Meanwhile, commodifying stars, Nadine has proven her worth in JaDine starrers, in box-office and critical acclaim in “Diary ng Pangit,” “Para sa Hopeless Romantic,” “Never Not Love You” etc.
What is an Urian Best Actress award for if not for excellence?
Will AlDine surpass the records of these Viva films?
Not in the picture, momentarily, is Daniel Padilla, Kath’s erstwhile boyfriend.
ABS-CBN has plans for him, anyway.
In the final analysis, Kathryn and Nadine are professional rivals, after all.
Will Kathryn compliment James and vice-versa?
Hopefully, Reid rebounds.
Will Alden add luster to Lustre’s career and the other way around?
The Multimedia Star and the President?
What a bombshell combination.
To achieve the goals, the ball is now theirs to play, to dribble.
