German bier bar and restaurant chain Brotzeit has given Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City another terrific place where lovers of good German food and beer can to go when it opened its latest branch at Shangri-La at the Fort last month.
This branch offers tired executives a place to hang out and enjoy one another’s company under the open night sky, or drink until the early morning while admiring its cozy, rustic-modern appearance. It’s one that boasts of a keg wall and a chic sign embodying its stellar status as a proudly Bavarian establishment.
The newest branch’s opening is timely, for it coincided with the 500th anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot, or the German beer purity law, which detailed the regulations limiting the ingredients for the country’s beer. Its most famous version was adopted in the southeastern German state of Bavaria in 1516.
According to that version, the only ingredients that can be used in the production of beer are water, barley, and hops. Strict penalties were imposed on breweries that created “impure” beer.
This would later impact German beer diversity, leading to the domination of the German beer in the market: unadulterated, “pure” brews full of depth and flavor, not unlike the thirst-quenching brews served at Brotzeit.
What’s great about Brotzeit beers is that, because they are made in accordance with this law, they seldom cause hangovers, which make them more appealing to drink.
Also appealing are the belly-filling Bavarian/German dishes, thanks to Brotzeit Executive Chef and Culinary Director Ivan Maminta, who teamed up with Dominik Oesterreicher, a German chef from chain’s head office in Singapore, to come up with these dishes.
With a cozy atmosphere and an impressive menu, Brotzeit at Shangri-La at the Fort— and at the Shangri-La mall in Mandaluyong City and Glorietta 4 mall in Makati City—assures guests that they would have a high-quality dining and drinking experience.
