MG Philippines officially launched two of its “game-changer” vehicles – the G50 Plus and the MG3 – during a media launch held at the Blackbird Restaurant last week in Makati.
The G50 Plus is the brand’s new strong entry in the highly competitive MPV market while the highly-awaited MG3, entering the B-segment hatchback category with a competitive price and a big surprise. It is a three-row 7/8-seater boasting features typically found in higher-end models but at a surprisingly competitive price tag. This spacious and versatile MPV offers ample room for families and large groups, along with comfort and convenience features like a user-friendly infotainment system.
The G50 Plus is powered by a 1.5L Turbo engine churning out 181PS of power and 280Nm of torque. You also get the choice between a 6-speed automatic or a 7-speed “wet-type” dual-clutch transmission, both offering optimal power delivery for confident highway cruising and ease for hauling vehicle load – ensuring families have the power they need in any driving situation. On the other hand, the MG3 aims to redefine the standards by introducing the first HEV variant in its class as it offers a seamless blend of sleek exterior design and classy interior features, setting new standards for both style and functionality.
It also boasts of a powerful and efficient 1.5L naturally aspirated engine generating 120PS of power and 150Nm of torque, ensuring that you have the right car for fit for city driving or cruising the highway. The MG3 is a first-in-class Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), further enhances performance with a hybrid electric-fuel powertrain producing 190PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The dedicated hybrid engine uses a range of advanced technologies and an ultra-efficient 3-speed hybrid transmission to give you an effortless drive.
