It isn’t only because of love but out of professionalism and multitasking as well that former chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and actress Liza Diño-Seguerra has been doing production assistance work for her husband Ice Seguerra.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 8 pm, Liza will be over the Theater Solaire in Pasay City to oversee all the contents are in place for Ice’s 35th anniversary concert, “Becoming Ice” from the reception table to the backstage of the hall.

Diño-Seguerra will meticulously manage the whole event as a multitasker and behind-the-scene operator.

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fire and Ice Media and Productions, Inc., Liza is the administrative think tank of the concert who sees to it that all elements of the production are properly executed from conceptualization to implementation. Logistics are also in her turf as well as troubleshooting and shock absorption as the case may be.

At the same time, Diño-Seguerra–apart from hiring other Production Assistants before and during the show–does PA works.

In her social media post, Liza teases her current predilection in doing off-cam work for Ice. “PA sa gabi (at night), CEO sa umaga (at daytime)! Tag-along sa mga (to the) promo guesting ng (my) hubby ko for his upcoming concert,” she quipped.

A blow-by-blow monitoring on the progress of the show has been Diño-Seguerra’s daily routine on personally and even virtually especially when she was still recently at the 2022 Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

“Final stretch before the big event on Saturday. All roads lead to ‘Becoming Ice.’ Check out the photos for the complete lineup of guests supporting Ice on this very special day,” she announced.

Among Ice’s guests include Vic Sotto, Martin Nievera, Chito Miranda. Regine Velasquez, Cooky Chua, Gary Valenciano, Bayang Barrios, Juris, Princess Velasco, Sitti, Lolita Carbon and the Drag Race Philippines Queens Precious Paula Nicole, Eva Le Queen, Brigiding, Turing, Viñas De Luxe and Marina Summers.

On Parokya ni Edgar’s vocalist Chito Miranda, Ice has fond memories of him and his troupe. “Isa sa mga pinapakinggan kong albums nung bata ako pag papunta ng school eh yung (One of the albums I listened to when I was a kid as I went to school was) ‘Khangkhungkherrnitz’ ng Parokya Ni Edgar. Kabisado naming magkapatid yung mga kanta. Tapos jina-jam din namin mga kanta nila sa classroom tuwing breaktime. Laki ng impluwensiya sa akin ng 90’s band breakout. Lalong lumalim ang pagmamahal ko sa music dahil sa mga kantang nagsilabasan nun. Pero sa dami ng mga banda nun, PNE continues to be one of the most in demand bands hanggang sa ngayon. Solid ang samahan, dapat tularan (My sibling and I knew the song by heart. Then we would jam the song in school during break time. It has influenced me a lot in the 90s. My love for music got deeper because of the music that came out during those years. Despite the rise of musical bands PNE remains one of the most in demand groups until now. Their unity is solid which should be emulated),”

“Becoming Ice” is also a personal journey for Liza as she is totally inspired to assist her husband who she recently shared a “monthsary” celebration, however virtual as she was in Korea. “Happy monthsary mahal ko (my love). Wish you’re here with me. Kailangan ko ng lakas (I need strength). But I know we are at the height of preps for your concert. Miss na miss na kita (I miss you so much). Lab yu (I love you!) Next time, magkasama na tayo dito (We should be together here),” she articulated.

Ice has also recently celebrated his birthday and what an apt occasion Liza has uniquely whipped up by writing about her loved one. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my husband’s birthday and his 35 years in the industry than to show everyone how proud I am of him. Sana, through this article that I wrote in my Sunday Times column today, makilala nyo sya (to know him) the way I know him.

“I feel truly blessed to have found ‘my person.’ Isang napakabuting tao (one kindest person), who has kept his feet on the ground despite being an ICON of this industry. I am fortunate to be called his wife,” Diño-Seguerra enthused.
