President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday visited Pampanga to assess the country’s newest state-of-the-art government hospital located inside the Clark Freeport Zone.
The President toured the newly completed Pampanga Provincial Hospital–Clark (PPH-Clark), which was inaugurated on April 29 and is designed to expand healthcare access for both residents and workers in the economic hub.
During the visit, Marcos also checked on patients admitted to the facility and inspected its medical services and equipment.
Situated at Changi Gateway in Clark City, the 9,259-square-meter hospital is expected to serve not only Pampanga residents but also more than 151,000 workers, investors, and locators within the freeport zone.
Built to Department of Health Level II standards, the facility is equipped with advanced medical systems, including CT scan and X-ray machines, endoscopy units, and mammogram equipment.
The hospital offers a full range of services, including Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYNE), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as well as diagnostic and ancillary services such as radiology, laboratory, pulmonary, cardiovascular, dental, and dietary care.
PPH-Clark is also applying for accreditation under the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation to provide expanded Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) benefits, which cover free consultations, laboratory tests, screenings, and medicines.
The three-story facility has a total capacity of 143 beds, consisting of private, semi-private, and ward accommodations.
The project cost ₱601 million for construction, with additional funding from the provincial government of Pampanga for equipment and hospital systems, while further medical supplies were secured through donations.
Once fully operational, the hospital is expected to generate around 401 jobs and contribute to economic activity in the province.
Officials said the facility reflects the government’s ongoing effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Central Luzon and improve access to modern medical services.
