Public utility vehicle (PUV) operators using the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) are expected to save as much as ₱5 million under a three-month terminal fee holiday ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..
Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the suspension of terminal fees will take effect today, May 18, 2026, as part of efforts to help operators cope with rising diesel prices.
“Ang kabilin-bilinan sa atin ng Pangulo: patuloy nating tulungan ang ating mga kasamahang PUV operator at driver. Itong inisyatibong ito ay malaking tulong sa kanila dahil makakatipid sila sa terminal fees na pwede nilang gamitin pangkarga ng krudo o gamitin sa anumang gastusin nila,” Lopez said.
Under the policy, all PUVs passing through PITX—including provincial and city buses, modern and traditional jeepneys, UV Express units, and taxis—will be exempted from terminal charges during the covered period.
Currently, PITX collects fees per entry: ₱100 for provincial buses, ₱20 for city buses and UV Express units, and ₱10 for jeepneys, taxis, and modern jeepneys.
Officials said the projected ₱5 million in savings will depend on the volume of daily terminal usage.
The Department of Transportation also said the measure may be extended beyond the initial three-month implementation depending on its impact on transport operators and commuters.
