The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will launch new Express Mail Service (EMS) delivery hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting today, January 13, to enhance domestic and international EMS operations.
According to a news release issued on Friday, the new hubs will be located in the central post offices of Manila, Quezon City, and Makati City.
These additions aim to streamline EMS services, which are currently centralized at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) hub in Pasay City, where the bulk of express mail items are processed and delivered across NCR.
Under the new system, EMS delivery personnel, drivers, and couriers will be reassigned from CMEC to the newly established hubs, ensuring a more efficient and localized delivery process.
The move is expected to offer customers improved access, greater convenience, and potential savings when using EMS.
PHLPost reminded the public that undelivered items will now be held for seven days at the respective hubs. This adjustment allows customers additional time to request redelivery or claim their items directly, eliminating the need to visit the CMEC in Pasay City.
The EMS next-day delivery service has been optimized to meet the demands of Metro Manila, which represents a significant share of PHLPost’s overall delivery volume. For domestic express mail sent within Metro Manila, items mailed after the designated cut-off time will be delivered within 48 hours.
The cut-off time for post offices in Caloocan, Valenzuela, Marikina, Novaliches, Pasig, Pateros, Taguig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Manila is 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, post offices in Manila, Makati, Quezon City, Pasay, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, and Las Piñas have a cut-off time of 3:30 p.m.
These improvements underscore PHLPost’s commitment to providing faster and more reliable postal services to meet the growing demands of its customers in the region.
