Philippine National Bank (PSE: PNB) has passed its surveillance audit for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security certification while expanding the scope of the standard across more of its operations, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to safeguarding customer and business data.
The certification audit was conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and now includes additional business units, reflecting the bank’s continuing efforts to strengthen information management, protection, and security practices.
A key development under the expanded certification is the inclusion of the bank’s PNB Singapore Branch. With this, PNB said it has become the first Philippine bank with an overseas branch to secure the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.
The move underscores the bank’s effort to maintain consistent security standards across both its domestic and international operations.
PNB President and CEO Edwin R. Bautista said the certification reflects the institution’s commitment to maintaining trust and responsibility in handling information.
“This reflects our commitment to protecting information and strengthening the confidence of our customers and partners,” Bautista said.
The bank added that the expanded certification will also strengthen its risk management capabilities and better prepare the institution to respond to evolving cyber threats.
With this milestone, PNB said it continues to promote safe, reliable, and secure banking services for its stakeholders under its “Every Step Together” commitment.
