Two of the country’s Transport Network Companies (TNCs) announced they will not deduct any commission from their partner drivers after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) started implementing a reduction in surge pricing during the holiday season.
Lalamove announced a zero percent commission on fares charged by its Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers.
“In support of the LTFRB’s recent directive for TNVS and TNC operators, Lalamove has decided to implement a 0% commission on the entire fare for our TNVS partner drivers and ease surge pricing for Lalamove Ride commuters so rides can be accessible to everyone as they celebrate the Holiday,” Lalamove said in a statement.
The no-commission on surge pricing for its TNVS partners will last until Jan. 4, 2026 according to Lalamove.
Meanwhile, InDrive said it has not charged commissions from surge pricing since Dec. 17.
Earlier, LTFRB issued a memorandum cutting surge pricing by 50% amid passenger complaints. This prompted LTFRB to prohibit TNCS from charging commissions from this reduced surge pricing.
