Although he has written a book titled “At Large, At Leisure” published by the UST Publishing House in 2008, veteran entertainment journalist Nestor G. Cuartero says his new project, “PH Movie Confidential” is his first book on movie history.
Nestor, who has been both a keen observer and an interactive participant in show business events, has gathered his wits and wisdom on the lives and times of all kinds of people in the industry.
In his foray into in-depth and analytical discussions on Philippine show biz affairs, Nestor has posed these following questions and arguments which he delineates in his writings on a first-hand account:

The slim volume of 130 glossy pages, says Nestor, is a humble collection of essays about trends, practices, beliefs, quirks and movements that helped shape the Philippine movie industry then (and now). The book is partially the result of his having been an avid moviegoer for the past six decades.
He writes, “Let’s just say a good chunk of those years had been spent as a close, firsthand observer of the industry as a working journalist covering the entertainment beat.”
Published by Ultimate Learning Series by Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC) in cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), “PH Movie Confidential” will be launched on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Cinematheque o the FDCP in cooperation with the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEED).
Cuartero is a veteran entertainment journalist who has worked for both print and broadcast media. He was a long-time editor at the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, for which he has won several awards in journalism.
Among these are: Grand Prize in Primer Premio de Periodismo given by Instituto Cervantes in 2000; First Prize in the 2007 La Sallian Scholarum Awards for coverage of youth and education issues in media; 2010 Binhi Awards’ Environment Journalist of the Year from the Philippine Agricultural Journalists (PAJ).
