Are you planning to take a vacation in a country with a cold climate? What better way to make the most of experiencing that climate than to wear fashionable and comfortable clothes?

With this in mind, world-renowned Japanese casual-wear manufacturer and retailer Uniqlo recently unveiled its fall/winter collection. It offers everything that children, professionals, and even sports buffs need.

According to Uniqlo, bringing ordinary jackets to other countries may not be enough, and it’s important to check on the fabrics they use. The company assures customers that, with its newest collection, they can still travel light.

“I think you want to make yourself comfortable, presentable. So you have to make sure you travel light and pack the right mix of clothes in your luggage,” Uniqlo Philippines General Manager Geraldine Sia told the Philippines News Agency in an interview.

Sia said the fall/winter collection has everything a person needs. Noting that Uniqlo is “LifeWear”, she said the collection showcases items from “innerwears” to Ultra Light Down jackets, depending on the temperature of the country they’re going to.

The Uniqlo official also said people who wear the brand can be just themselves, “because that’s what LifeWear is all about.”

The fall/winter collection also features the Ines de La Fressange line, a collaboration between Uniqlo and the French model and fashion designer.

Uniqlo said this line features a gray seasonal pallette, with gradations from dark to charcoal, and augmented by blue and red accents.

While Uniqlo is yet to collaborate with a Filipino designer, Sia said the company has graphic T-shirts made in partnership with two Filipino companies.

“We had collaborations before with Jollibee, and now with Monde Nissin,” she said.

Sia also told the PNA that Uniqlo is continuing its expansion plans in the Philippines.

“We have just expanded [to the] Visayas. Aside from Cebu, we now have stores in [the cities of] Iloilo and Bacolod. Right now, we have 32 stores. We will continue to expand,” she said.

She also said basic core items that Uniqlo is known for, such as chino shorts, pack T-shirts and its usual summer items, will still be in stores.

Even if Uniqlo might be a bit pricey to some people, Sia said Uniqlo always prides itself in terms of quality and innovation.

“We continue to focus on the function, high fashionable items that is quite affordable and accessible to all Filipinos,” she said.
