Diamond Auto Group forays into commercial EVs

The Diamond Auto Group EV Corporation introduced last week the complete lineup of Dongfeng commercial electric vehicles and also its new set of officials at the Manila Golf Club.

Being the official importer and distributor of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, a total of seven light commercial vehicles, all fully electric, were unwrapped during the event.

Dongfeng is the leading provider of light vehicles for operating solutions in China and its products are now being exported to more than 100 countries around the world.

With the big push on vehicle electrification, Dongfeng is now concentrating on the development of the new energy business and its while series of EV models have passed the European Union certification. These new products are now being exported to Austria, Germany, Colombia, Peru and now to the Philippines.

Aside from Calimbahin, the other top officials of Diamond present during the event were: Jay-Ar Dyogi (head of sales), Ivy Marie Sanchez (finance and admin head), Ramil Mendoza (technical division head), and Paulo Hong (after-sales division head). They were joined in by Cathy Ding from Dongfeng ZNA.

To be the forerunner in the electrification of light commercial vehicles in the country, the new company would want to offer high-quality, reliable, and eco-friendly vehicles that can power the local businesses.

The Rich 6 EV is the first electric pickup to be introduced in the local market which is ieal for airport/hotel shuttle services. Having the same chassis from Nissan (since Dongfeng has a tie-up with it in China) pickup trucks, it has an output of 120 kw/161 hp, 420 Nm of torque, and a range of 250 kilometers per full charge.
