BLACKWATER Bossing are on a roll.
With George King, who replaced Ricky Ledo as the team’s import around, the Bossing are keeping everybody take notice.
King, who was selected as the No. 59 overall pick by the Phoenix Suns during the 2018 NBA Draft, again played a pivotal role in leading the Bossing to three straight victories after starting the season 0-3.
The 30-year-old King delivered monster numbers of 39 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists as Blackwater overpowered the NLEX Road Warriors, 110-99, in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Troy Rosario added 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, with 11 coming from the offensive end, while Sedrick Barefield contributed 13 points for the Bossing of coach Jeff Cariaso.
The Bossing also got 13 points from RK Ilagan, 11 points from Justin Chua and 10 points from Christian David as the Bossing tied their victim in Group B.
Myke Henry led the Road Warriors with 26 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Robert Bolick nearly secured a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.
In his PBA debut, King posted 33 points, 19 rebounds, and four assists, leading Blackwater to a 95-88 victory over Barangay Ginebra last August 30.
King also led the Bossing to a 123-111 victory over the Phoenix Fuel Masters last September 3, erupting for 44 points on 12-of-24 shooting, along with 13 rebounds and four assists in his second game.
“It’s obvious on the court the impact George King has given us the last three games. He’s really a fighter, he’s a guy who doesn’t get rattled and he’s a true professional so we’re very fortunate to have him,” said Cariaso in an interview posted on PBA website
“But I think aside from that, the numbers… what we take as a big value is really his leadership, his composure, and the way he just, you know, inserts himself and how much he wants to be part of this team,:added Cariaso, a former PBA player himself.
