Volvo, considered as one of the safest vehicles in the world, unveiled its newest and next-generation of flagship vehicles — the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV and the Volvol EX90 Ultra Bev — both engineered with next-level advanced safety innovations, modernized digital features, and passenger comfort.
And they were introduced by no less than Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, the vice chair, president, and CEO of Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Volvo Cars in the Philippines, during an elegant launch event last Feb. 19 at the Volvo Makati Showroom.
“With the launch of the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV and EX90 Ultra BEV, we are introducing not only Volvo’s next-generation electric vehicles in the Philippines, but also the principle of shaping a future that values safety and responsibility. The Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV redefines what an executive electric sedan can be. It features a spacious Scandinavian living-room-inspired cabin with natural light from its panoramic electrochromic roof, with power-adjustable, ventilated, heated front seats with massage function and rear reclinable and ventilated passenger seats delivering tailored comfort on every journey. It is also the first Volvo sedan to feature an 800-volt EV architecture that enables faster DC charging and a WLTP range of up to 700 km providing credible long-distance capability, which is an ideal choice for executive travel.
The Volvo EX90 Eltra BEV is more than an EV counterpart of the XC90 as it already won the World Car Awards and the World Luxury Car title, truly worthy of the title flagship EV SUV. It delivers exceptional level of safety, quietness, and advanced digital sophistication in a true 7-seat family SUV. Powered by a twin-motor AWD drivetrain, the EX90 delivers up to ~624 km WLTP range from its 111 kWh high-voltage battery and supports ultra-fast DC charging, enabling 10–80% in approximately 22 minutes at up to 350 kW. Its 300 kW (456 hp) powertrain produces 770 Nm of torque, allowing 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (US 0–60 mph in 5.7 seconds), a top speed of 180 km/h (electronically limited), and a towing capacity of up to 2,200 kg.
