There are not a few myths or false beliefs that show business (or even in daily quotidian) has made up and concoct that have passed on from generation to the next that have influenced the thinking of many people, in and out of the industry.
Are they boon or bane?
To do or undo?
Take note of these:
Nega as in negative attitude—such shallow assessment. What if the craze is moneymaking but the source of the moolah is dubious?
One (for instance, a movie reporter) is “made” or has arrived when slapped with libel cases (oh, no! Can you sleep well at night when the sword of Damocles is hanging on your head or when already hobnobbing with the beautiful people or the rich and famous (can you stand the double-faced? the straightforwardness? the hollow laughter? the intellectual discourse? the steep climb to society?) etc.
One is “in” when invited to press cons and other glittery events left and right. Whatever happens to uniqueness and exclusivity?
You’re as good as your last article or last TV appearance, for example, a reporter. What if one has a million likes and views on social media like Facebook? Who cares about print or broadcast?
Walang personalan, trabaho lang (No personal attack, just a job). But the personal is professional. A cook or any other professional is a human being.
Just asking.
