Consumer finance platform BillEase has secured a ₱1-billion credit facility from Philippine National Bank (PNB) to expand financing options and access to credit for Filipino consumers.
BillEase said Thursday that the facility uses the Personal Property Security Registry (PPSR) to give PNB a secured interest in the company’s consumer loan receivables.
Under the arrangement, BillEase will maintain a pool of active customer loans worth more than the amount borrowed. Repaid or delinquent accounts will be replaced regularly, while customer payments will follow a structured priority system that ensures PNB is paid first.
“We are deliberately expanding our local funding base here at home, with the country’s leading banks, because that allows us to keep serving more Filipinos with affordable, responsible credit,” BillEase co-founder and chief executive officer Georg Steiger said.
He said PNB’s participation reflects growing confidence among major financial institutions in consumer lending backed by disciplined credit standards.
BillEase reported an 80 percent increase in revenue to ₱8.7 billion in fiscal year 2025, while net profit reached ₱782 million. Its gross loan book also grew to ₱12.5 billion.
The platform currently adds more than 200,000 customers and disburses over ₱5 billion in loans each month.
PNB Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Banking Sector Roberto Fo Abastillas said the bank was confident in BillEase’s portfolio quality based on its performance across different market cycles.
“BillEase has demonstrated strong portfolio quality across different market cycles. This track record gave us confidence to establish this relationship at a meaningful scale,” Abastillas said.
He described the facility as the beginning of a broader partnership and said PNB looks forward to exploring additional areas of cooperation.
BillEase said the new facility supports its strategy of increasingly financing its growth through local partners and comes as it expands into banking.
The company previously acquired a rural bank, which is expected to allow it to offer additional financial products, including savings and deposit services.
