Pop star Coco Martin and fellow actor Ihman Esturco have gone a long way, indeed.
Aside from being friends, Coco and Ihman are artists in their own right. Coco is a multimedia director and Ihman is a professional photographer not only in the Philippines but in the US where he is based.
Martin and Esturco enjoy each other’s company by sharing knowledge and experiences about their respective artistry.
Coco got the acting services of Ihman when the latter took a longer vacation in the country recently for a special role in “Batang Quiapo” which he cherished so much he even took photos of their teamwork.
Their friendship has spanned decades.
It was Ihman who rediscovered Coco in the second wind of his showbiz career, and eventually became his manager, however short-lived.
Whenever Esturco celebrates his birthday in the Philippines, he sees to it that his friends are around especially, Coco.
Last week’s Ihman’s natal day was no different from his past celebrations.
In his digital diary, Esturco wrote: “Proudly 56. Whenever I’m in the Philippines, I choose to celebrate my birthday on January 2.
It’s never about anything grand—just a quiet meal shared with Coco, his partner Julia, my family, and the friends who stood by us and guided us when we were only beginning.
“We share stories, remember lessons learned, and give thanks to the people who helped shape our path.
“Nothing fancy—just deep gratitude for the journey, the hard work, and the gentle pushes that helped us become who we are today. Love you all!!!” (Boy Villasanta)
