Chery Auto Philippines introduced the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid as new addition to its SUV line up and is Chery’s first mild hybrid offering in the country that aims to drive more people towards an eco-friendly future for transportation through “Green Mobility Made Practical.”
Priced at P1.350-million, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid features a 48V belt starter generator system mated with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a 9-speed CVT. The Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid’s power is rated at 156 horsepower with 230 Nm of torque.
Chery Auto Philippines will also offer Php 100K savings for this Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid as part of its introductory promotions making the net selling price of just Php 1.250-million. Units are available in white, gray, red, silver, and black colors.
“With the introduction of the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, we aim to make sustainable driving a norm for every Filipino car buyer. And we are doing it by offering a mild hybrid vehicle at a very practical price. Sustainable driving is for all and we would like to make sustainable mobility solutions practical for everyone,” United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) chairman Rommel Sytin said.
The mild hybrid technology is known to give an efficient boost to the conventional combustion engines, enhance fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions.
The integration of the mild hybrid technology allows the vehicle to have various electric vehicle functions. Among these are: Start & Stop – The system shuts off the engine when engine power is not needed such as during traffic or waiting time; Energy Recovery – The mild hybrid system regenerates energy during coasting or braking. The kinetic energy generated will then be converted and stored as electrical energy in the batteries; Fuel Efficiency and Lower Emissions – The 48V technology boosts the engine giving the engine less hard work in acceleration. Meantime, the shutting off of the engine during traffic or waiting time increases fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.
