Doyon secures back-to-back NASFOR Driver of the Year title

Off-road racer Christian John Doyon has once again proven his dominance in the sport by successfully defending his Driver of the Year – Extreme Category title under the National Association of Filipino Offroaders during the Golden Wheel Awards last March 13.

Doyon first captured the prestigious title in 2024 and followed it up with another impressive campaign during the 2025 season in the NASFOR Extreme Off-road Challenge.

The season opened last Jan. 25–26 last year during the first national leg in Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte near Dipolog City. Despite clocking the fastest times on two of the three tracks, penalties ultimately placed him second overall.

Doyon rebounded strongly in the second national leg held in his hometown of Ormoc City, where he delivered a standout performance and secured the championship on home soil.

He opted to sit out the third leg to support his girlfriend during the Ormoc Piña Festival Queen pageant, where she emerged victorious, adding a meaningful personal milestone to his season. The fourth leg coincided with his college graduation, where he earned a degree in Business Administration and Management, prompting him to prioritize this important achievement.

Returning to competition for the fifth national leg in La Libertad, Zamboanga del Norte, Doyon faced one of the season’s most demanding courses. Rising to the challenge, he captured the championship despite the punishing terrain.

The season concluded on Oct.  4–5 during the Philippine Tough Truck Challenge final leg in Zamboanga City, where Doyon once again claimed victory, securing enough points to clinch his second consecutive Driver of the Year title in NASFOR’s Extreme Category.

NASFOR competitions feature three tracks per event: Track A, Track B, and Track C. Track C combines elements of the first two. A driver’s total time is calculated by adding performance across all tracks minus any penalties, with the lowest overall time determining the winner. With exceptional skill, resilience, and discipline both on and off the track, Christian John Doyon continues to raise the standard for off-road racing in the Philippines.
