By Alvin I. Dacanay Renowned international publisher Penguin Books is set to publish a collection of the major works of the late National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin a few weeks ahead of the centenary of his birth next year, it was learned late last week. 

The Intertextual Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) invites teachers, students and lovers of Philippine literature to the opening ceremonies for the celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of National Artist for Literature Francisco Arcellana at the CCP Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino on Sept. 6 at 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. 

The Association of Pinoyprintmakers (A/P), formerly known as the Printmakers Association of the Philippines (PAP), will hold an exhibition, titled Papers and Layers, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’s (CCP) Second Floor Hallway Gallery and Little Theater Lobby from Aug. 27 to Sept. 25.
