LANDBANK 9-month income climbs 8% to ₱37.5-B

State-owned Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) posted an 8-percent increase in net income to ₱37.53 billion in the first nine months of 2026, supported by strong third-quarter earnings and continued growth in its core banking operations.

The bank reported ₱13.32 billion in net income for the July-to-September period alone.

Its total assets reached a record ₱3.56 trillion as of end-September, while deposits climbed to ₱3.11 trillion, reflecting sustained growth in its balance sheet.

LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz attributed the performance to continued client confidence and the bank’s ability to balance commercial operations with its development mandate.

“Our strong financial performance reflects the continued trust of our clients in LANDBANK. This growth affirms the strength of our client-focused solutions and our ability to deliver on our developmental mandate while maintaining sound and disciplined operations,” Ortiz said.

The bank continued to expand financing for agriculture, fisheries and rural development (AFRD), with loans to the sector reaching ₱894.41 billion, up 10 percent from ₱812.79 billion a year earlier.

The amount accounted for nearly 55 percent of LANDBANK’s gross loan portfolio, underscoring its role in financing the country’s agricultural and rural economy.

The bank also widened access to digital financial services through its Cash-Lite Program, which had reached 29 communities nationwide by end-September. It introduced real-time identity verification for customers enrolled in the National ID System, allowing them to open accounts online without presenting physical identification cards.

Digital transactions rose 29 percent year-on-year to 713.16 million, with their total value increasing 22 percent to ₱3.83 trillion. The LANDBANK Mobile Banking App also recorded a 71-percent jump in unique active users to 3.69 million.

Beyond its banking operations, LANDBANK facilitated the distribution of ₱1.2 billion in fuel assistance to more than 109,900 public utility vehicle drivers nationwide under the government’s enhanced Fuel Subsidy Program as of Nov. 2, 2026.

Its development financing and sustainability initiatives likewise earned local and international recognition.

The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific cited two LANDBANK projects at its Outstanding Development Project Awards in Colombo, Sri Lanka, while the Philippine Energy Awards conferred on the bank the Sustainable Energy Finance Award for supporting renewable and clean energy projects.

International Banker also named LANDBANK the Philippines’ Best Commercial Bank and Best Sustainable Bank for 2026, citing its initiatives in financial inclusion, digital innovation, sustainable finance and customer-focused banking
